Antisocial.kynn is my authentic self. Kynn is just my nickname, Kyndal being my actual name. Antisocial is how I'd describe my personality. Basically representing how I ve always managed to find the fun within solitude and just continue to evolve and grow into who I m supposed to be without distraction.

My journey to art is an ongoing journey honestly due to the fact I constantly feel the need to figure out my ' art style'; when an art style is literally your exclusive way of making art. I hold my art to such a high standard when art is art. It took me so long to realize that so I struggled a lot with being consistent, thus hindering my growth. Knowing what I know now, I am able to fully express myself and make art that I like and not what I think others would.

As of now, I ve been focused on digital art. But when I m not making a digital piece, I use: acrylic paint, alcohol markers, paint markers, graphite, and compressed charcoal.

I signed up for the sneaker competition by MARTK'D because I wanted the art community to become familiar with who I am. I wanted to solidify my presence and allow the public to see my work. I am very critical of my art so this was a big leap for me.

I experimented with customizing sneakers back in high school. I stopped after I ruined a pair of Air Force ones by not deglazing the shoe before painting )a rookie mistake) and all the paint cracked and came off.

So I used acetone to try and give myself a do-ver, but the shoes were stained so I just threw colors on them... it just wasn't the same.

I chose Indianapolis because our city is so slept on. I wanted to tap into what Indianapolis offers. As well as, I sort of assumed everyone else would choose a basketball theme.

My design did not turn out the way I wanted it to. Literally everything I had planned just went out the window the day of the competition, so I was left to improvise. I came discord and disappointed because what I had planned was so well calculated. Now the shoe is starting to grown on me

So my sneaker custom design is centered around the indiana state fair with a roller on the right side of the shoe. Around the toecap I wrote the words 'welcome to nap'. The left side of the shoe was where I planned to cut up the puma sign and turn it into the longs donut sign, but it came out badly so I went astract and started to throw colors onto the shoe. The tongue of the shoe matches only differing in the base color but it too has splashes of colors on it.

The Tarrago Sneaker Paint colors we used for customization are very vibrant so to achieve a darker color I added black to give the strawberry red a tint. Great coverage with the paint, I find myself not having to keep adding layers.

Art is art. Make the type of art that makes YOU happy! There's a beauty in your work that can't be replicated. Do not let opportunities such as these pass by waiting for the ' perfect' moment to put yourself out there to gain exposure.
