We are all concerned about the health of our Planet Earth so at SneakersCare we decided to celebrate this special day with a challenge we all could benefit from.
While many companies have started to work towards eliminating toxic materials and chemicals from their production processes and incorporate eco-friendly practices, extending the life of shoes is still one of the most effective ways to limit harmful carbon emissions in the air and waste in landfills.
Market leader brands such as Nike and Adidas have started to do their part towards creating more sustainable fashion habits and a greener place for us to live in the future, but it is just as much our responsibility to shop and live in a more environmentally friendly way.
Adopting greener habits into our everyday life will have a positive an impact on our planet if we all do our part. Here are our tips:
Think Quality over quantity
Price is an important part of the buying decision; but what is the real cost of the price decision. Higher quality products often come with higher prices because natural, environmentally friendly and recycled materials are more expensive. They are not only more sustainable; but by their very nature, they give you longer-lasting footwear, which is both more friendly towards our planet and your wallet. The cost to the environment is much lower than less expensive, eco-unfriendly products. Remember, if you buy cheaply, the environment pays dearly.

Take care of your sneakers
It does not only help save the planet but also extends the life of your favorite pair of sneakers or of the most comfortable go-to shoes you have. Remember, the longer you wait between cleaning them, the more damage that may occur. As Benjamin Franklin reminds us, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of care.”
